Re: Geauga County Planning Commission

The Geauga County Board of Commissioners are currently accepting applications for the Geauga County Planning Commission to fill a vacant position with a term ending December 31, 2023. Anyone interested in serving can submit an application and resume to the Geauga County Board of Commissioners, 470 Center St. Building #4 Chardon, OH 44024. The Geauga County Planning Commission is responsible for the review of subdivisions and makes recommendations on township zoning amendments, provides zoning advice to townships, provides census data, and prepares the county land use plan. The Planning Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. The Board position is unpaid and will be for a three-year term. Any applicant for consideration must be a resident of Geauga County.

Responsibilities of the Geauga County Planning Commission

  • Review of subdivisions
  • Review of zoning amendments and give zoning advice to local communities
  • Provide census data
  • Prepare community land use plan

Please note the survey was an open survey to Geauga County residents via Survey Monkey in order to obtain public input and was not administered as a random sample of households. The results are for informational purposes only and are not statistically valid. Additional opportunity for public participation will be available during the public forums to be scheduled in early to mid-October.
