Minor Abortion Without Parental Consent or Notice
Ohio law permits a minor (or a friend of the minor) to file a petition with a Juvenile Court to obtain a court order that would permit a medical professional to perform an abortion on the minor without notice to the minor’s parents and without the consent of the minor’s parents. That petition may be filed in the minor’s county of resident or in an adjacent county. The Clerk will assist the petitioner to prepare and file the petition. If the minor does not have an attorney, then the Court will appoint an attorney for the minor. The Court will not charge any court costs.
