The Victim Assistance Program is a support and advocacy program for victims of misdemeanor crime. The program, implemented in October of 1998, is funded in part by federal grants.
It is the mission of the Victim Assistance Program to improve the balance to the criminal justice system by maintaining a recognized presence during pending misdemeanor cases, protecting the rights and fair treatment of crime victims, and assisting citizens in overcoming the trauma of crime victimization.
